Description
1856 1/2 C MS64 Red PCGS. B-1, C-1, R.1. A bright orange-red near-Gem that also has a few freckles of pale sky-blue color. The central reverse exhibits a couple of mint-made planchet flaws, but the surfaces are essentially free from contact. Full Red 1856 Half Cents are surprisingly rare, more so than the reported mintage of 40,430 pieces would indicate.
