Red Gem 1970-S Doubled Die Cent, Rare FS-029 Variety
1970-S 1C Doubled Die MS65 Red PCGS. FS-029. DDO 1-O-I. Large Date. IN GOD WE TRUST has the widest spread, but die doubling is also evident on LIBERTY and the date. Gold, orange, and ruby-red hues invigorate this satiny and crisply struck Gem. The reverse is essentially immaculate, and the obverse is carefully preserved. The Cherrypickers' Guide states that FS-029 is "an extremely rare variety in any grade" and lists the MS63 value as $6,000.
