Description
1999 1C Lincoln Cent--Double Struck, Second Strike Uniface Obverse--MS66 Red NGC. This mint error did not eject from the dies after the initial strike, and was struck a second time. The second strike was a centered broadstrike, and a newly fed planchet blocked the obverse die, thus expanding and distorting the obverse image from the initial strike. Traces of the zinc interior form a band across the bulged central reverse.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22K2, PCGS# 3154, GSID# 2319)
