Almost Uncirculated 1846-D Quarter Eagle
1846-D $2 1/2 AU53 NGC. Variety 7-K. The mintage of the 1846-D was low and surviving examples are also scarce with only 175-200 pieces believed known today in all grades. This piece is certainly better-than-average by degree of wear, but it shows the numerous small abrasions and central striking softness seen on most examples of this issue.(Registry values: P2)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25H3, PCGS# 7742, GSID# 8352)
