Description
Superb Uncirculated 1914-S Quarter
1914-S 25C MS67 NGC. The 1914-S is a popular issue in the Barber quarter series because of its impressively low mintage of only 264,000 pieces. That being said, there are more examples extant in MS63-65 condition than one might imagine. However, this particular piece is among the finest known with only three other comparably graded coins (two other NGC and one PCGS). Struck from lightly striated dies, the fields (especially those on the reverse) show extra brightness. Overall the coin displays brilliant surfaces and there are only the slightest abrasions evident with strong magnification. Superior luster characteristics make this an impressive and important survivor of this low mintage issue.(#5669) (Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23ZZ, PCGS# 5669, Greysheet# 5458)
