Description
Remarkably Smooth 1917-D Mercury Dime
1917-D 10C MS67 NGC. We have not handled another 1917-D Dime whose surfaces are as smooth as those of the present Superb Gem, and, indeed, this coin is the only survivor of this D-mint delivery to obtain an MS67 rating from either NGC or PCGS (5/01). In other words, this coin is the finest certified non-Full Bands '17-D Dime available to today's collectors. A gorgeously toned specimen, rings of electric-blue, pink, and golden-orange peripheral toning frame softer, champagne and silver colored centers. Save for the highpoints of the reverse fasces, the strike is bold, if not sharp, in all areas. From the Eric A. Kreuter Collection.
