Description
Magnificent 1849-O Seated Half
1849-O MS 65 NGC. This is one of the most spectacular and rarest coins in the entire sale. Magnificently original, the obverse has streaks of white mint frost intermingled with golden-violet and apple-green toning. The reverse shows hues of mottled russet, turquoise, silver-gray, and golden-violet full, original luster. The strike is sharp, but not full, with softness on a few stars. This is one of the most visually impressive coins that this cataloger has seen.
