Description
1872 50C AU 53 NGC. Although not widely recognized as such, the 1872 was a widely melted issue. This is a typically abraded coin for the grade whose otherwise brilliant surfaces yield to lavender iridescence about the denticles. There is no unduly bothersome loss of detail.
