Description

1818 25C AU53 NGC. B-8, R.3. Three crowded dentils below the first 1, a die scratch from the inner side of star 2 into the field, and I of PLURIBUS slightly left of center of the second T in STATES confirm the variety. This later die state shows clash marks (bars) at the ear, and a die crack from the rim through the rightmost leaf into the eagle's left (facing) foot. Medium intensity peripheral golden-gray patina cedes to light gray in the centers. Well defined except for flatness in the star centers. Quite clean for a coin that saw some circulation.(Registry values: P2)
