Description

1900 5C Liberty Nickel--Struck on a Nicaragua Five Centavos Planchet--AU50 PCGS. The U.S. Mint struck copper-nickel Nicaragua five centavos in 1899. A planchet for that type found its way between Liberty nickel dies. Because the flan is undersized, the upper left stars are flatly struck, and the rim is absent near 5 o'clock. There is no evidence of an undertype.
