Condition Rarity 1849 Half, MS64
1849 50C MS64 NGC. CAC. Light blue-violet and yellow-gold patination on the obverse cedes to deeper hues on the reverse of this lustrous near-Gem, where it is joined by splashes of orange and lavender. Sharply struck, as are most examples of the date. Nicely preserved. Common in circulated grades but rare in Mint State. Census: 8 in 64, 2 finer (6/09).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24HE, PCGS# 6262, GSID# 6267)
