Description

Impressive MS66 1888 Half Dollar

1888 50C MS66 PCGS. CAC. Well struck, save for typical slight weakness on the top of Liberty's head and on star 8 nearby. Satiny, coruscating luster shimmers over each side. The rose-gray central toning yields to mottled sea-green, russet, and olive patina in the fields and near the borders. Always a popular date because of the low mintage of only 12,000 pieces struck for circulation. Population: 18 in 66, 4 finer (5/09).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24L3, PCGS# 6370, GSID# 6308)

Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
