Description

ANACS-Certified 1798 B-15 Draped Bust Dollar, MS61

1798 $1 Large Eagle MS61 ANACS. B-15, BB-112. A median rarity among Draped Bust Dollar die marriages, B-15 exists to the extant of perhaps 250-450 coins in today's hobby. Since most survivors grade no finer than VF or XF, this BU representative is sure to elicit strong bids from specialists. Both sides display curious smoky-gray toning with brighter, mottled, golden-blue undertones. The strike is a little uneven, but the denticles are all discernible and Liberty's portrait is suitably well detailed. There are some noticeable obverse abrasions, but they are relatively few in number for the MS61 grade level.
