Description

1850 50C AU50 PCGS. This issue has a low mintage of only 227,000 pieces, and was extensively melted, so survivors are few, especially in AU and Mint State. Softly detailed on a few of the obverse stars, but bold elsewhere, with a trace of wear on the highpoints, drab olive-gray color, and a modicum of scattered surface blemishes. Population: 6 in 50, 30 finer (7/04).
