Description
Elusive 1807 Draped Bust Quarter MS64
1807 25C MS64 NGC. B-1, R.2. The fourth and final Quarter of the Draped Bust, Heraldic Eagle type, the 1807 was produced in the largest numbers (220,643 pieces) for the series. Although generally unpopular with financial institutions for the first several decades of U.S. coinage history, the Quarter probably circulated widely among the general population because Uncirculated coins of all early dates are scarce, if not rare. Offered here is a richly toned Mint State representative with burnt-orange and steel-blue shades covering both sides. Die clashing is clearly evident and a faint diagonal lamination angles down the portrait. Population: 12 in 64, 4 finer (3/05).(#5316) (Registry values: P5)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23RF, PCGS# 5316, GSID# 5060)
