Glorious PR69 Ultra Cameo 1898 Quarter
1898 25C PR69 Ultra Cameo NGC. This white-on-black beauty is essentially perfect, since a pinpoint fleck above one of the arrowheads is only visible beneath a lens. Virtually brilliant, although traces of tan toning are noted on the lower half of Liberty's neck, and wisps of gray are apparent on the cheek. The strike is razor-sharp save for minor blending on the fletchings and right (facing) claw. Only 735 proofs were struck in 1898, and few survivors can compare with the eye appeal of the present outstanding specimen.
