1959 Hawaii Statehood Gold Medal
1959 Hawaii Statehood Gold Medal MS60 Uncertified. 63.4 mm, 216.3 gm. Produced by the Medallic Art Company of New York, this large gold medal is struck in .900 fine gold, serial number 24 out of a total of approximately 50 pieces produced. Although the original box no longer exists, the printed flyer that accompanied these medals is present. These pieces were originally distributed through The Coin and Currency Institute of New York. An advertisement in the May 1960 issue of The Numismatist stated that the gold issue was limited to 100 pieces that were offered for $850 each.Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 661250)
