Description
Stunning 1799 Eagle, MS 63 PCGS
1799 $10 Large Stars Obverse MS 63 PCGS. B. 5-G, R.2. Along with the 1801, the 1799 is the most common of the seven Capped Bust Right, Heraldic Eagle ten dollar gold issues. Examples are obtainable for a price in all grades up to and including Brilliant Uncirculated. Attractive, minimally marked representatives are, however, quite scarce when compared to the number of high quality gold collectors in today's hobby. This is an exceptionally well produced coin for the early Philadelphia Mint. The surfaces are expertly centered within their denticled borders. Both the peripheral and central devices are as close to complete as can be expected. There are no singularly distracting abrasions and the color is green-gold in shade. In sum, this is a premium quality example for the issue as well as the grade.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2623, PCGS# 8562, GSID# 9345)
