Description
Rare Uncirculated 1892-S Morgan Dollar
1892-S $1 MS62 PCGS. Along with the 1884-S and the 1901, the 1892-S is among the most spectacular conditional rarities within this extensively collected series. Although readily available in VF and lower grades due to a reasonable production of 1.2 million pieces, XF to Choice AU examples are scare, and the appearance of an Uncirculated survivor is a highlight of any sale. Encapsulated in a green label holder, this nicely struck Dollar has complete mint luster and lightly toned surfaces. Surprisingly clean for the grade, as a faint scrape in the field near the eagle's beak and a few faint slide marks on the cheek would seemingly be appropriate for even a slightly higher designation.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 255P, PCGS# 7218, GSID# 7608)
