Description
Attractive 1927-S Twenty Dollar, MS62 PCGS
1927-S $20 MS62 PCGS. The 1927-S was once regarded as the fourth rarest issue in the Saint-Gaudens double eagle series. In recent years, however, enough examples have been repatriated from Europe to lower the overall rarity ranking of this issue. This piece displays rich, orange-gold surfaces and flashy mint frost, with eye appeal that would do justice to a considerably higher grade. There are a few light abrasions on both sides, but even these are minuscule in number for the grade. In sum, this is a premium quality example of this desirable S-mint twenty that deserves a carefully considered bid. From a Magnificent Collection of Double Eagles.
