Description
Outstanding 1863 Half Dollar, PR64 Cameo
1863 50C PR64 Cameo PCGS. Four hundred sixty proof half dollars were struck in 1863. PCGS and NGC combined have certified approximately 225 examples, but only 25 pieces have been given the Cameo designation. Outstanding field-motif contrast greets the observer of this wonderful near-Gem, and razor-sharp design features enhance the coin's eye appeal. A blush of champagne-gold color rests on the Liberty motif, some of which splashes lightly onto the adjacent fields. A few faint, inoffensive handling marks are all that separates this lovely piece from full Gem.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 27TP, PCGS# 86417, GSID# 6453)
