Description
Pleasing 1803 Choice AU Dime
1803 10C AU55 PCGS. JR-4, R.5. The variety is attributed by the 3 in the date that tilts right, and has its top parallel to the bust; LIB closer than BERTY; the second T in STATES located over the left quarter of cloud 3; and star 12 that touches the ribbon. Both sides are bathed in bluish-gray and reddish-tan patina. The design features are well impressed, including nice definition in the obverse center, which is usually weak on this variety; the eagle's breast and wing feathers are bold. Diagnostic die cracks are visible on the right side of the reverse. A pleasing early dime.(Registry values: P7)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 236L, PCGS# 4473, GSID# 3965)
