Elusive Gem 1883/2 Shield NIckel
1883/2 5C MS65 PCGS. FS-013. When it comes to overdate 1883 Shield nickels, the three sub-varieties pale in comparison to the boldness of FS-013. Here the loops of the 8s are filled and the underlying 2 is clearly visible to the left of and slightly below the 3. The coin itself is a solid Gem with outstanding sharpness and just the slightest golden tint. Anyone seriously interested in overdates or in completing a high grade set of Shield nickels really should have a look at this noteworthy example.
