Description

Choice XF Key Date 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter

1916 25C XF45 PCGS. CAC. This was a transitional year for the quarter dollar denomination, and the new Standing Liberty design of Hermon MacNeil was only produced to the extent of 52,000 pieces, making it the undisputed key date in the series, and one of the most sought-after American silver coinage issues of the 20th century. This Choice XF representative displays soft ice-blue and gold-beige patina on the obverse, and pastel lavender and violet over the reverse. Most of the rivets on the shield show, though weakly along the body. There is a scattering of circulation marks, especially on the obverse.(Registry values: N2998)
