Description
The First of Two 1932 Double Eagles, An Attractive MS63 PCGS Example
1932 $20 MS63 PCGS. There does not appear to be an appreciable rarity differential between the MS60-MS65 grade levels for the 1932. Unlike the other issues at the end of this series (which are also condition rarities), the 1932 is basically just an absolute rarity. Forgive us for using the term "just" in this context--we do not intend to downplay the importance of either the issue or this particular representative. Although we are offering two '32-P Double Eagles in this sale, the number of extant examples in no way equals the number of advanced 20th century gold collectors in today's hobby. As such, we anticipate significant bidder competition for both examples.Richly frosted with solid luster quality for the grade, both sides are also remarkably free of distracting abrasions. A moderate scrape in the obverse field to the left of Liberty's chest is noted, nonetheless, but the overall eye appeal would easily support a higher Mint State designation. Typically bold for the issue with no bothersome bluntness of detail.
From the Aaron Bliss Collection.
