Description

Sharp Gem 1932-D Quarter

1932-D 25C MS65 PCGS. Original silver-gray surfaces are intermittently covered with blushes of golden-brown and apple-green toning. Satin luster is unbroken throughout both sides, and contact is quite minimal. A small mark on the upper left eagle's breast is noted. The strike is bold, not only on the highpoints of the devices, but also across the legends near the rim. Only the lowest portion of the date is not sharp, and few collectors would even notice this feature. In short, this is a remarkable example of this coveted first-year issue, the unchallenged key to the series in Gem condition. Since PCGS and NGC combined have certified only one piece finer, the present coin represents the finest practically obtainable quality, and would provide the cornerstone of a standout collection of the series. Population: 63 in 65, 1 finer (11/06).(Registry values: N1793)
