Choice 1797 S-131 Stemless Reverse Cent
1797 1C Reverse of 1797, No Stems. S-131, B-27, R.3. AU55 NGC. XF40 EAC. An intermediate die state, the cracks and chips in the right obverse field are just beginning to develop. Apparently a Condition Census example that was not recorded by Del Bland. The EAC grade places this cent in a tie for second finest known of the variety, and nearly the equal of the finest known example, plated in Breen. The surfaces are glossy dark brown with only a few minor distractions including the usual circulation marks associated with the grade. One of the very finest examples of a popular major variety.
