Description:

Desirable 1796 B-1 Quarter Dollar

1796 25C B-1, R.5. AU53 NGC. Usual State. Low 6; Small Eagle. A heavy die line or crack extends upward from the upright of E in LIBERTY to the border. This ridge or crack extends below the upright of E, and into Liberty's hair, but in the form of a fine hairline die crack. Additional faint cracks and tiny die lines are visible, especially on the obverse. The obverse has a combination of moderate to heavy scratches and lighter adjustment marks. Attractive pewter-gray surfaces with hints of bright green toning along the obverse border. The reverse is similar, but with dusky golden-brown color about the periphery. This is a wonderful example, despite the minor imperfections. It should prove to be an exciting addition to anyone's collection.
Ex: McConnell (3/1973). Envelope Included.(Registry values: P7) (#5310)
