Description:

Heavily Frosted MS64 1879-CC Dollar

1879-CC $1 MS64 PCGS. The 1879-CC is a scarce and popular Carson City dollar with a mintage of only 756,000 pieces. It is seldom located in high grades and when found it is usually seen with heavily abraded surfaces. This is an especially attractive example that has the usual thick mint frost Carson City dollars are known for. Additionally, the surfaces are unusually clean with only the slightest ticks on the cheek of Liberty that prevent an even higher grade. The striking details are also strongly brought up and each side is untoned. All in all, an excellent '79-CC dollar and a coin that represents good value for this elusive issue.
From The Leslie E. Lunsford Collection, #7 Current Finest Registry Morgan Dollars Basic Set, Circulation Strikes.(Registry values: P7, N2998) (#7086)

We changed the way we image slabbed coins on February 1, 2010, in order to get a more accurate image of the coin. To get the sharper details and more accurate colors we have focused the lighting on the actual coin, which has caused the top of the holders to appear darker and milky. Please disregard the color of the holders when examining the images.
