Description:

Attractive 1852-C Half Eagle, MS62 NGC

1852-C $5 MS62 NGC. Variety 18-H. Attractive green-gold color complements the light orange toning on this example. The 1852-C is one of the more common C-mint issues in high grade, with maybe a dozen or so Uncirculated examples known. The strike is adequate if not impressive, with weakness on Liberty's tresses above the ear, on the eagle's neck, and on the tail feathers. There are light abrasions, none worthy of singling out, and the surfaces are subtly prooflike. Census: 5 in 62, 11 finer (1/06).(Registry values: P3) (#8251)

We changed the way we image slabbed coins on February 1, 2010, in order to get a more accurate image of the coin. To get the sharper details and more accurate colors we have focused the lighting on the actual coin, which has caused the top of the holders to appear darker and milky. Please disregard the color of the holders when examining the images.
