Dallas, Texas. Heritage's May 2003 Long Beach Signature Sale, the official auction of the Long Beach Coin Expo, is now open for bidding. The entire catalog is posted online at, Heritage's award-winning website, and bidders can also participate through the printed catalog, available for $30 through Heritage. This is Heritage's 38th major sale at Long Beach since 1985. Prices realized are expected to approach $4 million.

"Our May Long Beach Signature Sale," noted Heritage President Greg Rohan, "has our finest ever consignments of Medals and Tokens. The Washingtonia section has a 1790 Manly medal struck over a brockage, a pair of Letter to Hamilton medals struck by Bolen, and a funeral medal in silver. The quality and diversity of the John Dabbert collection of Hard Times and Civil War tokens led us to produce a separate specialized catalog for the consignment."

Rohan continued, "The Long Beach auction also includes Part 6 of the Philip Kaufman collection of originally toned Superb Seated coinage, the Ron Julian Estate, which features numerous important Commemoratives, and the Dae V Love cabinet of Double Eagles. We offer the CEO Morgan Dollar PCGS Registry Set, ranked #20 on the all-time finest list. Prominent attorney Brian Loncar and Part 2 of the fabulous Trane Collection contribute hundreds of diverse rarities that span from colonials and early copper through better date silver and gold coins.

"Other important consignments include two excessively rare 1964 Special Mint Sets, three different varieties of 1776 Continental Dollars, many pattern pieces with infrequent auction appearances, and a comprehensive set of Fractional Gold. Counterstamped Cleveland and Stone Mountain Half Dollars will intrigue specialists of the series. The May Long Beach sale will be of interest to anyone actively involved in American Numismatics."
