Heritage Reports Another Record-Breaking Exclusively Internet™ AuctionDallas, TX -- Heritage's latest EI sale closed February with $285,239 in sell-through! Conducted from February 19 through 26, this was the first Heritage Exclusively Internet™ sale to break the $275,000 barrier. 496 lots found new homes out of 695 lots offered, with 257 successful bidders (out of 632 bidders participating).
"Bidders love these auctions," according to Heritage Co-Chairman Steve Ivy, "because the selection is terrific, and the closings occur at the same scheduled time each week (Tuesday nights at 10pm CT) so they're easy to plan for. Even though we send outbid notices, the bidders know that our system is honest, straightforward, and easy to use, so most of them bid only once on each lot, and they bid their maximum. Hundreds of lots, most in fact, sold for less than the bidders’ maximums, and several were purchased for thousands of dollars below the maximums, which happens frequently."
Heritage's other Co-Chairman, Jim Halperin, agrees. "Bidders often tell us that the most effective Internet bidding strategy in all Heritage sales is simply to bid the most amount you would pay for each auction lot, since your top bid can never be seen by other bidders or consignors. Therefore each winning bid will never exceed the next increment above the second highest bid. Our regular Internet bidders know this from experience, because they generally win lots at well below their proxy bids."
Heritage’s weekly Exclusively Internet™ begin and close every Tuesday evening at 10 PM CT, at Heritage’s award winning website http://www.HeritageCoin.com. Every single-coin lot includes full color enlargeable images of the obverse and reverse, latest population and third-party pricing data, and comparable auction records to help bidders determine their bids with confidence. HeritageCoin members who sign up with My Wantlist™ online are automatically notified whenever specific coins they need are posted for bidding.
