Description
1860 10C Doubled Die Reverse, F-101, R.3, PR64 NGC. Proof dimes were struck to the extent of 1,000 coins in 1860, but a new proofing fee implemented in that year reduced demand. Breen reports (without evidence) that 527 proof dimes were sold and the rest melted. This entirely brilliant Choice proof has flashy mirrors and frosty motifs that produce blatant cameo contrast.From The Kling Family Collection.
