Description

1912-D Half Dollar, MS66+
The Top Coin at PCGS

1912-D 50C MS66+ PCGS. CAC. Ex: Shireman. Hundreds of 1912-D Barber half dollars were preserved in mint condition, and the date is among the most available through MS65. Premium Gems, while rare, appear with some frequency, but both services have yet to report a single MS67 coin. This is actually the only MS66+ example at PCGS, making it of particular interest to Registry collectors. Satiny, brilliant surfaces boast semireflective fields and predictably few marks given the high technical designation. A hint of incompleteness appears on the forecurl, right talon, and fletchings. Otherwise sharply defined. Population: 16 in 66 (1 in 66+), 0 finer (11/15).
Ex: Harry Laibstain (9/6/2004).
