Description

1857 1C Obverse of 1856, Snow-2e, FS-401b, MS63 PCGS. The "Type of 1856." The O in OF has a nearly rectangular opening, similar to the 1856 but unlike the oval opening seen on most 1857 Flying Eagle cents. The font of other obverse letters also show subtle differences. A lustrous, boldly struck, and nearly unabraded wheat-gold example. The upper reverse exhibits minor strike-throughs.
