1937 5C PR68 PCGS. CAC. Proof production resumed in 1936 after a two decade intermission. The 1936 proof nickels were issued in two formats, satin finish, known as Type One, and brilliant finish, known as Type Two. The latter format continued for all 5,769 proof nickels coined in 1937. This Superb Gem is one of those brilliant proof nickels that features incredible design definition with reflective devices on brilliantly mirrored fields. Both sides have exquisite peach, rose, gold, and sea-green toning that creates outstanding eye appeal. Population: 25 in 68, 1 finer (11/15).(Registry values: N2998)
