1909-S Double Eagle, MS66
Only One Certified Finer
1909-S $20 MS66 PCGS. The production of double eagles in
1909 was limited at the Philadelphia and Denver Mints, with a
combined coinage of just over 200,000 coins at both mints.
Meanwhile, the San Francisco Mint coined more than 10 times that
number, with almost 2.8 million coins produced. One of those is
this incredible Premium Gem, exhibiting pristine surfaces and
brilliant orange-gold luster. This issue is normally chosen by type
collectors and one-a-year collectors who seek a single double eagle
for each coinage year from 1907 to 1932. Population: 12 in 66, 1
