1906 Philippines Peso, PR66
U.S.A. Administration Issue
1906 Peso Philippines Peso PR66 PCGS. KM-168. Struck for the
Philippines (under U.S. sovereignty) at the Philadelphia Mint, the
1906 peso was a proof-only issue with 500 pieces produced.
Circulation strike pesos were minted in San Francisco. The
dollar-sized coin in proof format is seldom available in Premium
Gem condition, especially with the eye appeal and attractive
variegated toning of this nicely mirrored example. Shades of
gunmetal-blue, amber-gold, and rose-red gleam across the reflective
fields that surround razor-sharp, lightly frosted raised motifs.
Housed in a green label holder. Listed on page 418 of the 2016
Guide Book. Population: 8 in 66, 15 finer (3/16).
