Description

1936 Dime, Beautifully Toned PR67+
First Proof Issue in the Series
Ex: Gardner

1936 10C PR67+ PCGS. The year 1936 marks the resumption of proof coinage after a two-decade-long hiatus. A total of 4,130 Mercury dime proofs were made. This Superb Gem survivor is outstanding. Only the upper-right obverse maintains its brilliance, while the remaining surfaces boast wonderful purple, magenta, sunburst-orange, and golden patina. Minor flecks are scattered over each side, but they fail to diminish the eye appeal. Comparable Superb Gem proofs are scarce, especially with such beautiful toning, and finer coins are extremely rare. Population: 71 in 67 (3 in 67+), 2 finer (5/16).
