1857-O Seated Liberty Half, MS64
Among the Finest at PCGS
1857-O 50C WB-101, Die Pair 1, R.3, MS64 PCGS. From a large
mintage of 818,000 pieces, the 1857-O Seated Liberty half was
widely circulated at the time of issue. The 1857-O is very rare in
Mint State today. This example is well struck, with variegated
aqua, gray, orange, and violet patination. Lustrous surfaces are
nearly devoid of significant marks. Population (all varieties
included): 9 in 64, 0 finer (5/16).Ex: Pittsburgh Signature (Heritage, 8/2004), lot 6228; Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 2/2011), lot 3701.
