Description

1887 Morgan Dollar, PR67
Only One Finer Specimen at PCGS

1887 $1 PR67 PCGS. CAC. Only 710 proof Morgan dollars were struck in 1887, a significantly smaller production total than those of previous years. Few survivors show strong field/device contrast, suggesting that the proof dies must have been polished more extensively than usual, reducing the mint frost on the design elements.

The coin offered here is a stunning Superb Gem, with razor-sharp definition on all design elements and deeply mirrored fields that show no mentionable flaws. Traces of attractive champagne-gold toning grace the surfaces of both sides, adding to the extraordinary eye appeal. Population: 3 in 67, 1 finer. CAC: 2 in 67, 1 finer (5/16).
