1940 Jefferson Nickel, PR68
Among the Finest at Both Services
1940 5C PR68 PCGS. This near-flawless Jefferson nickel proof
features the Reverse of 1940 with strengthened steps. A small
number of coins were also struck with the Reverse of 1938, showing
softly-defined steps. Proofs manufactured from the older hub are
very rare, but the Reverse of 1940 is no slouch either in PR68
condition, where this piece is among the finest at both services.
Ice-blue centers and lime-green rims dominate each side. Fully
struck without a single flaw of note. Population: 3 in 68, 0 finer
