Description
1801 Half Dollar, VF30
Elusive O-102 Die Marriage
1801 50C O-102, T-1, High R.4, VF30 PCGS. Overton-102 is the
scarcer of the two 1801 half dollar varieties, identifiable in part
by the lack of a die chip atop the reverse arrowheads. Even as a
date, the 1801 Draped Bust half dollar is elusive, and demand is
high. The present example displays light, even wear over boldly
struck design elements. Lavender-gold hues emerge from the
pewter-gray patina, and there are no adjustment marks or other
distractions.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24ED, Variety PCGS# 39268, Base PCGS# 6064, Greysheet# 193713)
