Description

1936-S Cincinnati Half Dollar, MS66+
Extremely Rare Any Finer

1936-S 50C Cincinnati MS66+ PCGS. CAC. This curious issue celebrates Cincinnati's 50 years as the so-called "Music Center of America." The 1936-S had a distribution of 5,000 coins plus six for assay purposes. Lavender-gray and crimson hues dominate the obverse, leaving the reverse frosty and mostly brilliant with dusky golden-tan accents. A couple of specks on the cheek and lapel are all that prevent a full MS67 grade. PCGS reports four finer submissions (7/16).(Registry values: N2998)
