Description

1870 10C F-101, R.3, PR66+ PCGS. CAC. The 1870 proof dime is rare in Premium Gem condition, and this Plus-graded coin possesses keen eye appeal. The strike is full, and the fields are deeply mirrored. Modest cameo contrast emerges from beneath the rich patina. The obverse displays vivid forest-green and cherry-red peripheral toning around a light golden center, while the reverse has more subdued coloration of gold and mint-green. Population: 9 in 66 (4 in 66+), 2 finer. CAC: 6 in 66, 2 finer (8/16).
