1842-D $5 Large Date VF20 PCGS. Variety 8-G. The Large Date
1842-D half eagle is significantly scarcer than its Small Date
counterpart. Students of the Dahlonega series count this issue
among the more challenging in the collection, as only 100-125
examples are known. This midgrade piece displays well-detailed
motifs and lightly marked green-gold surfaces. Housed in an old
green label holder. Population: 7 in 20, 63 finer (2/16).From The Ohio Valley Collection.(Registry values: P5)
