Description

1851-C Quarter Eagle, AU53
Rich Orange-Gold Color

1851-C $2 1/2 AU53 NGC. Variety 1. Rich orange-gold color and olive accents deliver excellent eye appeal throughout this minimally circulated Charlotte quarter eagle, one of 14,923 two and a half dollar gold coins minted in North Carolina in 1851. The strike is generally strong for a branch mint product, and small abrasions are undistracting. Census: 15 in 53, 48 finer (8/16).
