1862-S Two and a Half, Choice AU
Ex: Norweb Collection
1862-S $2 1/2 AU55 PCGS. Ex: Norweb. A rare issue with a
mintage of just 8,000 pieces. Rich orange toning is predominant
though the open fields are olive-green. The coin is well-struck and
attractive to the unaided eye with minor planchet granularity near
star 10 and a few faded pinscratches near the profile. Population:
9 in 55, 14 finer (9/16).Ex: Norweb Collection, Part II (Bowers and Merena, 3/1988), lot 2052; Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 5/2012), lot 4822.(Registry values: P2)
