Description

1845 Ten Dollar, Choice AU
Rare Any Finer, Great Color

1845 $10 AU55 PCGS. Rarely found in AU or finer grades, the 1845 Liberty ten is a traditional series rarity that has maintained its status through the shipwreck finds. Just two pieces were recovered from the S.S. Republic. The present coin is housed in a green label holder with sharply struck devices. The fields are busy with small abrasions but the attractive, sun-gold toning with orange accents and areas of fresh mint luster give the coin terrific eye appeal. PCGS reports just two finer examples. Population: 8 in 55, 2 finer (7/16).
