Intermediate Die State

1847 1C N-22, R.3, MS65 Red and Brown PCGS. CAC. Grellman Die State e, early. Die cracks near the bust tip help attribute the slightly scarcer Newcomb variety. Pockets of luminous orange-gold are especially prominent on the reverse, although gunmetal toning fills the open fields and high points. Marks are confined to tiny ticks on the nose and cheek. Our EAC grade MS62.
